Ben Dockery is a native of East Tennessee. He is an accomplished jazz pianist with ten years of performance and teaching experience in such places as Chicago, IL, Champaign, IL and Knoxville, TN. Mr. Dockery and his various performance ensembles have concertized in places such as Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Japan. Mr. Dockery holds a Masters Degree in jazz performance Depaul University in Chicago. Among Mr. Dockery’s scholarly are interviews which he conducted and were published in Chicago Jazz Magazine. Some of the participants include: Don Stille, Mulgraw Miller and Chip McNeil. Mr. Dockery has shared the stage with such jazz luminaries as Wynton Marsalis, Phil Woods, Jim McNeely and South African saxophonist Zim Ngqawana. Ben Dockery is one of two pianist recorded on Zim’s album, Zimology in Concert (USA) which won the South African Music Award for Best Traditional Jaxx Album. Other recordings include Live at the Jazz Showcase, the Bob Lark/ Phil Woods Quintet and The Depaul University Jazz Ensemble featuring Jim McNeely.
